The Preschool Program

The Toddlers Program
We begin with a Toddlers program for children 14-24 months who come together with a parent or caregiver. This class is a basic introduction to preschool and the many exciting activities you and your child can experience together. This program helps many young children adjust to the concept of preschool with storytelling, art, music, finger play, gross and fine motor activities, water and sand play.

The Two's Program
The Two's class aims to help each child successfully separate from his/her parent, relate to and trust the teachers, and begin to reach out to the other children in the class. To facilitate these goals, class size is limited, and a program of gradual orientation to the classroom setting is followed from the beginning of the school year. Children begin to feel secure and comfortable, and then are able to take advantage of the wide range of materials and experiences in the classroom. Social interaction, exploration and manipulation of creative materials, English language development, and building a positive self-image are the foundations of this program. (Child must be 2 years old by October 1st to enroll.)

The Three's Program
The Three's class expands upon the child's rapid growth in thinking and learning. The children are increasingly involved in arts and crafts, music, cooking, nature, creative movement, and stories. Our program encourages self-discipline and increased responsibility in classroom activities. Concepts such as numbers, letters, shapes, and colors are thoroughly explored. (Child must be 3 years old by October 1st to enroll.)

The Four's Program
The Four's/Pre-K class is an exciting year. Field trips are an integral part of this program -- discussions about our community lead to walking trips to the fire station, police station, library, parks, and more. Music and creative movement are specials for our Three's and Four's, and incorporated at a more sophisticated level. Science exploration and tzedakah (charity) projects all play a part in expanding the children's knowledge of the world around them. Learning increased self-control, refining small motor skills and pre-reading skills play a role in preparing children for Kindergarten. (Child must be 4 years old by October 1st to enroll.)
